Our System

Overview

Natural Pest Management is a category of pest-control services that use natural, organic, botanical and biological materials to effectively and cost-efficiently control pest problems while providing an unmatched margin of safety around people, pets, possessions and the environment.

Our unique Natural Pest Management (Natural Pest Control) provides effective control of pests, such as ants, roaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, silverfish, rodents and other pests without any sprayed liquid chemicals.

Natural Pest Management shares several fundamental characteristics with Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is a decision-making process that anticipates and prevents pest activity and infestation by combining several strategies to achieve a long-term solution using the least-toxic pesticides possible. In particular, IPM includes premise inspection, pest identification, treatment (control) methods and monitoring.

Natural Pest Management, like any good IPM approach, involves all of these important steps. However, what distinguishes our system is the specific pest-control products (e.g., natural, organic, botanical and biological products) and treatment methods that we use. We do not use any synthetic pesticides or EPA-restricted use pesticides. Click here to read about the pest-control products that we use. In addition, we uses treatment methods such as interior baiting, void-injection dusting, and exterior granular bait applications that have an enormous margin of safety over traditional pest control techniques. Our Natural Pest Management system does not include chemical baseboard spraying inside your home so there is no chemical drift or residue to inhale, or to settle on food or household surfaces. In addition, our system does not use broadcast spraying of liquid chemicals outside of your home so there is no chemical drift to interfere with beneficial insects or to deposit chemicals on areas frequented by pets and children.

Overall, our Natural Pest Management system employs the decision-making methodology of IPM in combination with products and treatment methods that are effective yet address the concerns that many customers have regarding the safety of traditional pest control.

The Xact Natural Pest Management system is based on three zones of protection as described in the picture and table below.

The three zones of pest control

ZoneNameDescription
1InteriorThis Zone ranges from the voids in the walls that frame the home to all areas inside of the home and garage.
2Exterior PerimeterThis Zone is in the immediate vicinity of the exterior walls of the home and any plants or shrubbery in close proximity to the exterior walls.
3LawnThis Zone is the lawn and other vegetative areas that surrounds the home.

The following table overviews our eight-step treatment program.
StepNameDescription
1Inspection & IdentificationWe perform a comprehensive inspection of your home or building and its surrounding environment to determine:
  • Which pest(s) are present and in what quantities
  • Where the pests are located
  • How did pests or could pests enter the structure
  • What conditions and practices are enabling or could enable a pest infestation
  • What conditions might affect the type of treatment methods and products that are used
2Environmental ModificationsAfter a thorough inspection of your home and identification of your pests, your Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technician will make specific modification recommendations for your home and its surroundings to facilitate a successful pest-control solution and/or establish excellent safeguards against future infestations. Areas of recommendation may include:
  • Structural repairs
  • Exclusion work
  • Improvements in sanitation
  • Harborage reduction/elimination
  • Habitat modification
3Interior ServiceOur Interior Service is designed to control pests both where you see them and where they are most likely to seek food, water and shelter. We complement environmental modifications with:
  • Void injection where we inject one or more different types of dusts into the wall voids and other pest-accessible voids in the home or building
  • Perform highly targeted baiting by carefully placing specially designed interior bait stations with a variety of baits
  • Perform trapping of insects and rodents as necessary
  • If needed, we offer a specialized interior treatment for fleas
4Exterior Perimeter ServiceOur Exterior Perimeter Service is designed to provide pests with two of their three basic necessities (food and water--the third necessity is harborage). By satisfying these basic needs outside of your home, we reduce the need for a pest to seek these necessities inside of your home. We complement environmental modifications with:
  • Specially designed exterior bait stations place around the perimeter of your home
  • Inside each bait station we place a unique combination of liquid and/or granular bait to feed a large variety of insects
  • Granular bait treatment around the perimeter of your home
5Lawn ServiceOur Lawn Service is designed to control the insects on the lawn so they have little incentive to approach your home or building. In particular:
  • We use a unique combination of low-toxicity granular baits applied directly to your lawn
  • For flea control, we provide a special nematode treatment service
  • For tick control, we provide a special diatomaceous earth treatment
6CommunicationWe view communication with you (our customer) as a critical way in which we transfer value to you. From the day we first visit your property through every service we provide to you, we will clearly and thoroughly communicate to you what we do, why we do it, what results you can expect and when you can expect them
7Quarterly Service (Monitoring)Our standard annual pest control service is design such that your Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technician will visit your home once a quarter. During these quarterly visits s/he will:
  • Monitor your outside bait stations
  • Make any necessary adjustments as to location, quantity and types of materials to place in your bait stations based on current and predicted activity
  • Retreat your lawn with our standard granular bait lawn treatment
  • We will also perform any necessary servicing of your interior bait stations
8CallbacksIf you ever have a pest issue between quarterly monitoring, we will return to rectify the situation.

Interior Service - Zone 1

Our Interior Service (Zone 1) protects the area from the voids in the walls that frame the home to all areas contained within these walls.

The three zones of pest control

Insects come to a home seeking food, water or harborage (shelter). So if you feed them on the outside, there is no reason for them to come inside. The purpose of Zones 2 and 3 in our system is to feed and control insects outside of your home.

When insects do enter your home they do so in three different ways:

  1. They are on you or your personal items (e.g., inside a grocery bag) and you carry them inside your home.

  2. They enter through a crack in the foundation and come up through the walls (between the wall studs).

  3. There is a landscape bridge (for example, tree branch) that comes into physical contact with your home, in which case the pests migrate to the home and the inside of the walls.

It is difficult to completely avoid personally carrying the insects inside (#1 above), since inspecting yourself and your personal items every time you enter your home is just not realistic. Step 2 (Environmental Modification) of our seven step treatment program is focused on trying to prevent pest from entering through the foundation or via a landscape bridge to your home (#2 and #3 above). However, it may not always be possible to eliminate all possible pest entry-points or landscape bridges. For these reasons, we must assume that some pests will by-pass any exterior pest controls that have been placed around the perimeter of your home and on the lawn.

Once inside your home, pests can move around the home in the voids between the exterior walls and the interior drywall. Protected and unseen, these pests are free to seek out food and water.

A traditional approach to interior pest-control is baseboard spraying, which has numerous problems as described below. We use a combination of void injection and baiting (both as described below) as alternatives to baseboard spraying.

Problems with Baseboard Spraying

Baseboard spraying is a common treatment method for providing interior pest control. When performing baseboard spraying, a technician walks along the interior perimeter of each room with a spray tank and a spray wand and sprays liquid pesticides onto baseboards (and often other surfaces) of your home.

Here are some of the many problems with baseboard spraying:
  • Baseboard spraying is an imprecise technique that disperses toxic chemicals in the air you breathe and deposits chemical pesticide residue on the surfaces in the the room that you, children, and pets are likely to touch.

  • Baseboard spraying rarely eliminates the colony, since the deadly poison frequently kills foraging worker pests before they can return to feed the colony. Overall, baseboard spraying kills only the 1% to 10% of the pests in a colony that are out foraging for food, leaving the rest of the colony intact and ready to take their place.

  • Pests inside of wall voids will not be killed with baseboard spraying since they are protected from direct contact with the baseboard-sprayed pesticides. In addition, in many cases, the pests can detect the presence of baseboard-sprayed pesticides and simply avoid them.

Treatment — Void Injection

Xact Natural Pest Management uses void injection to treat enclosed spaces (voids) where pests may live, hide and travel.

What is the Treatment?

Your Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technician will identify access points into the wall voids and other voids (such as spaces within equipment housings, false flooring, suspended ceilings) and will use a special machine to place a layer of electrostatically charged dust in each void. We use a variety of naturally occurring low-toxicity (to humans and pets) boric acid or limestone-based dusts that are highly effective against pests. Since the dust is injected into voids, it is not accessible to food, fingers or paws inside of your home. This dust also poses no threat to your walls, the foundation of your home or any electrical wiring or plumbing that might share the void.

How Does it Work?

Void-injected dust controls pests in several ways:
  • Some pests are repelled by the dust and thus avoid living or traveling through dusted void areas within a structure. In other words, the void becomes uninhabitable or impassable so you have denied the pests a primary harborage (shelter) location.

  • Other pests walk through or near the dust that has been electrostatically charged so it sticks to them. These pests will then groom themselves and either are harmed by the compound or die of dehydration when the microscopic edges of dust powder cut into their exoskeleton. Insects such as cockroaches will suffocate when the dust clogs up their exterior sphericals (breathing holes).

Benefits

Unlike alternative methods that attempt to kill pests where they hide, void injection is a highly precise technique, placing low-toxicity dust exactly where it is needed. In addition, since the dust is placed into a void there is no drift or other contamination in your home or living areas. As such, void injection is a much safer alternative to techniques such as baseboard spraying where it is very likely that aerosolized pesticide will enter the breathable air and coat exposed surfaces (for example, kitchen counters, bedding, etc.) in the home where people and pets reside. Because most voids are dark and dry, which promotes the longevity of the dust, our void-injection treatment is long-lasting, thus reducing the need for retreatment.

Treatment — Interior Baiting

Baits are a combination of one or more types of foods (to which pests are attracted) and a non-repellent substance that is toxic to pests (and, in our case, baits that have little or no toxicity to people or pets). Baiting is a very precise treatment method for placing pest-control products where they are available to pests but not to people and pets.

What is the Treatment?

Unlike other pest-control companies that might use baiting, Xact Natural Pest Management uses a variety of low-toxicity baits, some of which our personnel assisted in co-developing over the past decade. We put all of our baits inside of proprietary bait stations, making them completely inaccessible to little fingers or paws. Some companies that use baiting apply the baits directly to surfaces in and around your home. This approach is messy and can stain surfaces. In addition, since the baits are not inside a protected bait station, non-target animals can get access to the baits. Also, baits that are not protected can become contaminated and lose their potency more quickly due to direct exposure to the surrounding elements.

How Does It Work?

The goal of baiting is to entice foraging pests to feed on the bait and not go wondering around your home looking for food or water. Upon feeding they either die or return to their nest and feed the bait to other members of the colony including the queen. For example, in the case of many ants species, each foraging ant feeds eight to ten ants in the colony. All the pests that eat the bait die and the colony is rendered ineffective.

Benefits

Xact Natural Pest Management has substantial expertise performing interior bating. Here are three benefits of how we perform baiting:
  1. After years of experience performing interior baiting, Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technicians know exactly where to strategically place bait stations within your home to obtain maximum results. Consider this, just randomly placing bait stations in your home can yield poor performance if you are not lucky enough to place them in areas where pests are likely to visit.

  2. Many pests change their preference for baits over time (for example, at one time they prefer sweet food and at another time they may prefer protein-based food). Knowing which baits or combination of baits to use and when to use them is something that only time and experience will teach. When it comes to baiting, you can trust Xact Natural Pest Management's years of experience.

  3. We use a completely natural pest-management system, which means we do not use ANY synthetic poisons. Baits and the baiting process will be harmed if the baits are contaminated by coming into contact with synthetic poisons or cleaners used to remove synthetic poisons (by washing or cleaning hands). There are pest-control companies that use baiting in combination with synthetic chemicals. It is highly likely that any baiting provided by these companies has been compromised and will likely have significantly reduced effectiveness. In many cases, these pest control companies store their baits in close proximity to their liquid chemicals inside of their trucks, so the baits may be compromised even before they enter your home! With Xact Natural Pest Management, you get pure, effective baiting.

Treatment— Interior Flea Treatment

Xact Natural Pest Management also offers a special treatment service for interior flea control. If you have pets, you probably are familiar with the problems of fleas in your home. If you you want to avoid placing chemicals in or on your pets, our interior flea treatment is perfect for you.

What is the Treatment?

An Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technician will apply a naturally occurring powder to all floor areas of your home using our careful application method. Depending on the size of your home, the treatment usually takes between one and two hours to complete.

How Does it Work?

The powder that we use acts as a desiccant when any of the microscopic particles of the negatively charged powder come in contact with the flea larvae, the pupa or the egg. After 2-6 weeks we have complete control over the fleas in your home. Even as pets go outside and bring in new fleas, your home will stay protected because the powder remains deep in the carpets and hardwood crevices.

Benefits

There are many benefits to our flea treatment service. Here are some of the most important:
  • It is 100% guaranteed for one year. We will retreat your home at no cost if there is a recurring problem within one year of your initial treatment.

  • If you have multiple pets in your home our treatment is likely your most cost-effective method of eliminating fleas.

  • If you don't want to place chemicals on your animals, our flea-treatment service is for you.

Exterior Perimeter Service — Zone 2

Our Exterior Perimeter Service (Zone 2) protects the perimeter of your home.

The three zones of pest control

The Xact Natural Pest Management exterior treatment system is different than most other exterior treatment systems. Traditional perimeter treatment (practiced by most pest-control companies) is to broadcast spray a liquid chemical barrier around the outside of your home. Instead of changing the environment in which the insects live (e.g., food, water or harborage), most companies that apply chemical barriers are only masking the true problem.

The Xact Natural Pest Management system uses sprayed chemical barriers whatsoever. Rather, we use a novel perimeter baiting system with a proprietary mixture of highly effective baits.

Treatment — Exterior Perimeter Baiting

Our primary exterior perimeter treatment is a novel form of baiting using patented bait stations and a proprietary combination of liquid and granular baits.

What is the Treatment?

Exterior baiting strategically places bait around the perimeter of your home and its attached structures and pool (if any). The goal is to place the bait in areas where pests are located or can readily find it through foraging. Unlike other pest-control companies that might use baiting, Xact Natural Pest Management uses a variety of low-toxicity baits, some of which our personnel assisted in co-developing over the past decade. We put all of our baits inside of patented bait stations, making them completely inaccessible to little fingers or paws.

How Does it Work?

The goal of baiting is to entice foraging pests to feed on the bait outside of your home so they have no need to forage inside of your home. Upon feeding, they either die or return to their nest and feed the bait to other members of the colony including the queen. For example, in the case of many ants species, each foraging ant feeds eight to ten ants in the colony. All the pests that eat the bait die and the colony is rendered ineffective.

Benefits

Here are some of the important benefits of using the Xact Natural Pest Management Exterior Perimeter Baiting system:
  • No sprayed chemical barriers whatsoever.

  • Because baits are protected within bait stations, they are safe from mother nature and your sprinklers keeping them fresh for an extended period of time.

  • Because we use multiple baits (instead of a one-size-fits-all chemical product), we can pick and choose the baits that we want to use to control your exact pest problem. This approach reduces the negative effects on beneficial insects.

  • After years of experience performing exterior baiting, Xact Natural Pest Management Service Technicians know exactly where to strategically place bait stations around your home to obtain maximum results. This is in stark contrast to broadcast spraying that just indiscriminately spews chemicals both inside and outside the target area.

  • Many pests change their preference for baits over time (for example, at one time they prefer sweet food and at another time they may prefer protein-based food). Knowing which baits or combination of baits to use and when to use them is something that only time and experience will teach. When it comes to baiting, you can trust Xact Natural Pest Management's years of experience.

  • We use a completely natural pest-management system, which means we do not use ANY synthetic poisons.

Lawn Service — Zone 3

Our Lawn Service (Zone 3) is designed to feed and control pests on the lawn and other vegetative areas nearby so they have little incentive to approach your home. Pest that have harborage away from your home (for example, a colony nest somewhere on your property) will leave their nest in search of food and water. By providing enticing food (in the form of a bait) on the lawn, we have an excellent opportunity to obtain control over the pests before they ever get close to your home.

The three zones of pest control

The Xact Natural Pest Management lawn treatment is different than most other systems. Traditional lawn treatment (practiced by most pest-control companies) is to broadcast spray liquid chemicals on your lawn.

Treatment — Lawn Service

The Xact Natural Pest Management lawn treatment's goal is to reduce the population of home-invading pests found on your lawn.

What is the Treatment?

Our lawn treatment uses a unique mixture of low-toxicity granular baits that is used to treat all grass, mulch beds, flower beds and ornamental areas. The granular mixture is spread evenly over the desired area and is used to control the following pests:

  • Ants including: Argentine, Carpenter, Thief, Pharaoh, Little Black, Pavement, Imported Fire, Domestic Fire Ants, Odorous House and Crazy Ants

  • Cockroaches including: Asian, American, Brown, Brown Banded, Smokey Brown, German and Oriental Cockroaches

  • Crickets including: Camel, House, Field and Mole Crickets

  • Earwigs, Silverfish, Snails and Slugs

How Does it Work?

Grass, flower beds and related areas are traditional feeding grounds for pests. The goal of our lawn treatment is to place easily consumed baits in these areas so that foraging pests can consume them and die. In some cases, pests that live in colonies will transfer the bait back to the colony where its effects can be realized on all members of the colony (including the queen).

Benefits

Important benefits of the Xact Natural Pest Management lawn treatment include:

  • No sprayed chemical barriers.

  • Our unique mixture of granular baits ensure that we have the proper type of bait (based on pest preference) available at all times.

  • Our low-toxicity granular baits provide an unmatched margin of safety to children or pets who may touch or walk on the treated area.

  • Our granular baits are attractants and not repellents. We want pests to eat the granules and take them back to the colony. Other products are designed to repel pests from your lawn so they will seek out another path to your home.

  • Our granular baits are water-resistant, and therefore stay fresh for an extended period of time.

  • Our granular baits are not effected by sunlight or rain, unlike traditional liquid chemicals.

Treatment — Nematode Flea Treatment

We offer a specialized treatment service for outside fleas. Our treatment uses beneficial nematodes, which are microscopic, non-segmented roundworms that occur naturally in soil throughout the world.

What is the Treatment?

Our nematode treatment is applied directly to your lawn, mulch area, flower beds, and many other outside areas where fleas may exist. On an average size home and lot, we will apply upwards of 50 million nematodes. To activate the nematodes and make them more successful, we mix them with water and spread them on the lawn and related areas.

In addition to fleas, our nematode treatment is very effective against: chinch bugs, white grubs, caterpillars, cutworms, sod webworms, worker/soldier ants, worker/soldier termites, armyworms, artichoke plume moths, Asian cockroaches, American cockroaches, German cockroaches, beet armyworms, black cutworms, bluegrass weevils, codling moths, corn earworms, cotton bollworms, cucumber beetles, fall armyworms, fly larvae, fruit flies, leaf miners, mole crickets, tobacco budworms, wireworms, and more.

How Does it Work?

Inside the nematode's gut is the real weapon — symbiotic bacteria that when released inside an insect kill it within 24 to 48 hours. The nematodes enter the insect via the mouth, anus, respiratory openings, or directly through the body wall of the pest. The nematodes then eject their symbiotic bacteria inside the pest's body. The bacteria multiply and cause blood poisoning of the pest, leading to death. The bacteria also convert host tissue into nutritive products, which can easily be taken up by nematodes. Inside the dead insect, the nematodes feed and multiply. As the food resources within the dead pest become scarce, the nematodes will exit the dead insect and immediately start searching for a new host.

Benefits

There are a number of outstanding benefits to our nematode treatment:

  • Nematodes have no effect on people or pets.

  • Traditional treatments such as synthetic pyrethrine or pyrethroid, carbanomate, and organophosphates easily can leach into the groundwater and, eventually, into the water supply. In addition, these chemicals have a transfer effect so if you walk on the grass or child or pets walk on the grass they could transfer these chemicals inside your home.

  • Traditional treatments are negatively effected by water. If it rains or your sprinklers run after the treatment, the effectiveness of the chemicals will be significantly diluted (i.e., the percent of active ingredient will be substantially reduced). Nematodes, on the other hand, love water. So, if you run your sprinklers or it rains, it will make for more effective nematodes.

Treatment — Diatomaceous Earth Tick Treatment

We offer a special-purpose service to address ticks. Rather than using traditional synthetic pesticides, we use Diatomaceous Earth, which is also called silicon dioxide. Diatomaceous Earth is as chemically inert as road dust, but when properly used, it is very effective against insect pests. Unlike chemical insecticides, Diatomaceous Earth is a mechanical insecticide.

What is the Treatment?

Ticks live on and near wood. As such, our Diatomaceous Earth treatment focuses on wood structures that surround your home and the grass that can provide paths from one wood structure to another. We spread a layer of Diatomaceous Earth (mixed with water) on your wood structures (for example, porches, decks, fences, etc.) and grass. Diatomaceous Earth is highly effective, but to ensure the results you expect, we treat your home twice.

Addressed pests: ticks and scorpions

How Does it Work?

Insects control their body moisture by means of a complex ‘waxy’ coating on the outside of their exoskeletons, i.e., their shells. This coating is naturally porous, which permits slow loss of water and evaporation. If the waxy coating is damaged, the insect suffers serious injury.

Diatomaceous Earth is made up of ancient skeletal remains of diatoms. These one-celled creatures have hard, sharp structures that are small enough to abrade, cut or pierce an insect’s waxy coating. But the structures are so small that Diatomaceous Earth feels as soft as baby powder to humans. Diatomaceous Earth is also an excellent absorbent. This strong absorbency literally sucks the life fluid from insects.

Benefits

The following are some of the benefits of using Diatomaceous Earth:

  • It is highly effective against ticks.

  • It replaces traditional synthetic chemical treatments with a naturally occurring substance that works by mechanical means.

  • Children and pets immediately can walk and play on the areas treated with Diatomaceous Earth.

Products

Xact Natural Pest Management uses only natural, organic, botanical and biological pest-control products to achieve superior pest-control results without the side effects (problems) of traditional pest control.

Overview of Pesticides

A simplified definition of a pesticide is any substance for preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any pest. Pesticides are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency in accordance with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) requirements. Individual states also have laws that govern pesticide definition and use. The EPA defines three classes of pesticides:

  1. Restricted Use—the most toxic of all pesticides. These pesticides are defined as those that may cause adverse effects on the environment, and/or the applicator. They generally will be available only to certified applicators. Xact Natural Pest Management does not use any restricted-use pesticides.

  2. General Use—pesticides that have a lower toxicity than restricted-use pesticides and so less potential to harm humans or the environment.

  3. Minimum Risk— are products exempted from EPA registration and contain only active ingredients outlined in FIFRA 40 CFR 152.25(g) (“the 25b list”) and inert ingredients currently identified on Federal Register Notice 59 FR 49400 (“the 4A list”). The EPA has determined the ingredients on these lists do not pose any risk to humans or the environment. Minimum Risk products can provide fast knockdown and kill of broad spectrum of insects and other pests and, for the most part, use active ingredients that are considered "food" to human or pets.

Xact Natural Pest Management uses only Minimum Risk and General Use pest-control products.

Problems with Traditional Pesticides

Traditional synthetic pesticide can cause a number of unwanted side effects including:

  • Acute poisoning in humans, such as mild to severe illness or death.

  • Chronic effects in humans, including cancer, birth defects, and reproductive disorders.

  • Allergic effects in humans.

  • Environmental problems, such as groundwater contamination and wildlife damage.

  • Unintended killing of beneficial insects such as ladybugs.

Xact Natural Pest Management Products

Our systems uses natural, organic, botanical and biological products in various formulations including liquids, gels, granules and dust. All of our products are either EPA Minimum Risk (which are generally regarded as safe) or EPA General Use products. We also use a variety of traps.

ProductDescription
Boric AcidA compound derived from boron, a naturally occurring mineral. Boric Acid acts as a stomach poison and causes insects to die from starvation. We use Boric Acid-based products in various formulations ranging from dust, granules, gels and liquids. These products can control common household insects as well as wood-infesting beetles and termites.
LimestoneLimestone is a sedimentary rock consisting mainly of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate) that was deposited by the remains of marine animals. We use ground-up limestone as a desiccant to control spiders, cockroaches, ants, crickets, silverfish, earwigs, snails, aphids, mites, bed bugs, termites, scorpions, fleas, ticks, flies, bees, yellow jackets, wasps, and other flying insects.
Diatomaceous EarthThe fossilized remains of tiny, one-celled organisms called diatoms. It kills insects by scratching their waxy outer covering and causing them to dehydrate. We use only "natural grade" diatomaceous earth, which is quite different than the diatomaceous earth sold for use in swimming pool filters. Diatomaceous earth is used to control cockroaches, ants, silverfish, fleas and other pests.
NematodesA microscopic worm that lives in soil that acts as a biological control agent. We use nematode species that are parasitic on insects and can be used to control insect pests. These nematodes carry bacteria that can kill pests like fleas, but don't harm people or pets.
Mint Oil & Peppermint OilPressed from the leaves of the spearmint or peppermint plant, the oils are a repellant for mosquitoes, gnats, ants, flies, cockroaches, mice, yellow jackets and other flying pests.
EugenolEugenol is extracted from clove oil and cinnamon. It is active against ants, fleas, flies, yellow jackets, cockroaches and other crawling insects.
GarlicDried and ground from garlic cloves and active against ants, aphids, and mosquitoes.
Pheromone TrapsPheromone traps use "bug hormones" or scents that stimulate the type of scent produced by the female insect to seduce or lure their male counterparts. Males lured into traps are prevented from mating.
Insect & Rodent TrapsSpecially designed traps that provide a non-pesticide (mechanical) means of monitoring and reducing insect and rodent populations.
Rodent/Animal Catch and Release CagesPhysical traps/cages used in a humane manner to catch, transfer and release unwanted animals in or around a home.

Compare

Our system is different than most other pest-control systems that are commercially available. Most pest-control systems work by placing a chemical barrier around the outside of the home. Instead of changing the environment in which the insects live (e.g., food, water or harborage), most companies that apply chemical barriers are only masking the true problem.

Using Some of Our System Does Not Equal All of Our System

There are a number of pest-control companies that may use one or more of the same treatment methods that we do and/or one or more pest-control products that are similar to ones that we use. However, nobody that we are aware of provides the same unique form of service that we do (which would be highly unlikely since we were the original inventors of our Natural Pest Management system).

We have spent the past seven years defining, testing and redefining our system to provide superior effectiveness, at a fantasic price while offering the greatest margin of safety of any professionally delivered pest-control system. We refer to our approach as a system, meaning that all of our treatment methods and products are pieces of a larger solution. Start eliminating or changing the pieces and you rapidly begin to lose the benefits that we have worked so hard to obtain.

So, just because another pest-control company says they use baiting, you cannot assume that their baiting is the same as our baiting and will deliver similar results. In fact, even if another company would bait with the same products we use (not very likely since we frequently use a unique combination of products that is adapted to the preferences of your pests), if they also use traditional liquid chemicals, there is a significant chance that their chemicals will contaminate their baits, which will make the baits ineffective against the target pests even before they put them in or around your home.

As we said, you must consider all components of the system and their potential interactions with one another. Seven years of development and thousands of delighted customers confirm that our system is well-designed and effective. Challenge other pest-control companies to prove why their system works! Don't just accept statements like: "We do the same thing as Xact Natural Pest Management." If you examine the details at a system level, you will find that there are real and important differences.

The following table summarize important differences between Xact Natural Pest Management and traditional pest control services.

 A:

No! We have spent the past seven years refining our system and driving down the costs to deliver the next-generation of pest control. So, our service costs the same as many other traditional pest control services!

 Q:

What does it cost to treat my home?

 A:

The cost for treating your home is a function of the size of the home/building/yard to be treated. In some cases, the type of pest may affect the price.

 Q:

How long have you been in business?

 A:

Xact Natural Pest Management is a fresh new name for companies that deliver our unique brand of pest control. We have been providing natural pest-control solutions in South Florida since 1999.

 Q:

What are Broadcast Spraying and Baseboard Spraying and why are they dangerous?

 A:

Broadcast spraying and baseboard spraying are traditional methods of dispensing chemical pesticides. A technician with a spray canister and a spray wand showers chemicals onto surfaces of your home or its exterior (the perimeter and lawn). These techniques are imprecise and disperse toxic chemicals in the air you breathe and deposit pesticidial chemical residue on the surfaces and outside areas that you, children, and pets are likely to touch.

 Q:

Is your pest control safer than traditional pest control, because I have pets and kids?

 A:

Absolutely! We offer an unmatched margin of safety because we do not use any EPA restricted-use pesticides. We use only natural, organic, botanical and biological products, which are either designed by the EPA as general use or minimum-risk materials (which are generally regarded as safe).

 Q:

Do you guarantee your service?

 A:

You bet! We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

 Q:

How long does it take to perform your general pest-control services?

 A:

For a standard size home, our initial treatment will take several hours. Subsequent services will take about an hour to service the inside of your home and about 30 minutes to service the outside. Unlike many other pest-control companies, our goal is not to rush through the servicing of your home. We take our time to get the job done right!

 Q:

Is there a smell associated with your service?

 A:

No. You will not smell anything during or after our servicing of your home.

 Q:

How long does it take to see results?

 A:

Different pest problems require different amounts of time. On average our system can get control in a couple of weeks. Remember, quick kill (known as knockdown) typically only addresses the observable problem, not the root cause of the problem. Our system is designed to get to the source of your pest problem.

 Q:

Does your system work on white-footed ants?

 A:

Yes. We have consistently and successfully addressed white-footed ant problems using our Natural Pest Management system.

 Q:

Why does your system use multiple zones?

 A:

Our system establishes three zones of protection for your home. The concept is simple, if you feed pests outside of your home, there is less of a need for them to come into your home.

 Q:

Can my kids play on the lawn after it is treated?

 A:

Yes. We do not apply any synthetic chemicals to your lawn. Your kids may play on the lawn immediately after we treat it and not have to worry about chemicals on their clothing or skin. Of course, your pets also may play happily in the grass without being harmed.

 Q:

What type of payments do you accept?

 A:

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Cash and Checks.

 Q:

Are you licensed and insured??

 A:

Yes. We are licensed by the State of Florida and insured for all services that we perform.
